Lyndsey and I went to Rome recently and we stayed in the Crowne Plaza ST Peters Hotel. The hotel is located just a couple of minutes walk away from the Vatican City. The building is an a fairly modern one but doesn’t look to out of place in its surroundings. We hired a car and thankfully this particular hotel has a very large car park which also and some what surprisingly is free to use for residents of the hotel, which is a surprise for a big city hotel like this one.

I was personally expecting it to be about twenty five to thirty euros a night.

Inside the hotel is very nice, the lobby and reception areas are modern, stylish in a classic sort of way and very defiantly has an Italian feel about it. Checking in took us ten minutes mainly down to the fact that neither of us can speak Italian. The receptionist tried her hardest and was polite and very professional

The room we were given was very nice, it had views out over the pool and had a balcony with

a table and two chairs on we had a room service breakfast the one morning and sat out there and ate it, it was lovely. The room had a big double bed which was very comfy, there was a table and two chairs to sit at as well as a desk to work at. There was a very nice en suite bathroom that was large and well looked after. The room also had a large TV, a mini bar and a kettle for hot chocolate, tea and coffee.

Leisure wise this hotel has ...

most things as well as a spa bath, sauna and steam room. There is three pools one indoors which is heated and two outdoors one of which is a kids pool. We made use of the indoor pool and the outdoor one as well as the sauna and Spa bath. We didn’t use the gym or the four tennis courts as they were busy most of the time and we decided to take the relaxing approach and chill out by the pool and in the sauna.

The food at the hotel was lovely,

like I said one morning we had breakfast on our balcony. The dinner was served in the Le Jardin d’Hiver. The atmosphere was good, service excellent and the food just as good. The menu was expansive and had lots to choose from Lyndsey in particular enjoyed the sea food dishes that were on there, while I liked some of the Italian pasta creations.

Overall this is a very good hotel well worth visiting for both pleasure like we did or on business. The staff are very friendly and try to help where they can.
