I use my Magimix ice cream maker a lot in the summer months, its a relatively quick way of producing a good dessert. Often we have a Barbecue and like some home made ice cream with strawberries as a treat. Shortly im going to make some Rich Cornish Ice cream to have with our Christmas pudding.

Magimix have made an easy clean machine, the brilliant white glossy finish wipes clean easily. The one and a half litre capacity turns out plenty of rich ice cream for all of the family to have a helping.

      The ice cream

maker comes in two parts, the mixer bowl and the motor unit, the motor unit has the mixing paddle and a lid. The polished steel mixing bowl has a type of insulation that helps to keep the bowl cold.

The mixing bowl MUST be put into the freezer for at least 10 hours before you make the ice cream, it can be a bit frustrating if you forget about it!

Once you have the Magimix all ready to go,IE: paddle and lid fixed, you need to start to rotate the paddle before you add the ice cream ...

      • mixture. It sounds fiddly but its not at all.

Pour the chilled ice cream mixture into the bowl and then churn for about 20 minutes. At first I just kept on checking it, but as time goes on you get more confident using it.

The motor isn’t too noisy either. It makes rich thick ice cream and I have found that the whole art of it is chilling the mixture very well beforehand and making sure that the bowl is practically frozen too.

Remember the Magimix makes the ice cream by thickening the mixture. , there isn’t a

        freezing unit in this model.

A freezing unit is installed in some of the very expensive models. When you have turned out your ice cream and put it into the fridge to keep chilled then the bowl needs washing, don’t be tempted to put the unit anywhere near water, just wipe it over, the bowl washes easily.

I checked the Amazon price which was £44. 95, checked EBay where the Magimix was £48.

99 plus £9. 99 post and packaging! so trawled the Internet and found one on Cookware online at £44.

03 . so I bought the one from Amazon because it worked out cheaper with the free UK delivery.
