We bought this because our son was crawling out of the crib and coming downstairs to join us all the time after he was put to bed. He is a very small 2 year old, about 24 pounds, and is just not ready for a toddler bed just yet because he sleep walks and we are scared that he would fall down the stairs or climb the gate. So we were desperate. We bought this from Walmart for under $50. It has been one of the best investments we have made for baby purchases in the time of our 3 children.

It is pretty easy to assemble,

it took my husband only about 10 minutes to do it. Once we got it all set up we went upstairs with the kids and everyone got settled into bed for story time, and we made a big deal about how special our son was because he got to sleep in his very own fort. He thought that was pretty cool and fell promptly asleep. It was the first night I did not worry about him and keep an extra ear open for him to hear if he was going to come down the stairs. The next day during nap time he fought it a little bit ...

      • and wanted out to play with his brother, and when he went to get out, he was very upset that the zipper was out of reach for him and the velcro is next to impossible for him to take off. It has been such a blessing to us. He now does not pay any attention to it, and it has kept him safe and comfortable for about 2 months now. It is to the point now that if we forget to zip it, he will call us back to zip it up for him.

The tent is a decent height above the crib to give even taller babies

plenty of room to stand and move around without feeling like they are in a cage. The velcro to hold it to the crib is super sticky and is very difficult for an adult to get loose let alone a baby or toddler. The zipper like I said is on the outside of the crib tent and is impossible even for the slyest of babies to reach and unzip.

This is a must have for people who have a child who is not ready for a big bed, but is a monkey and climbs out and puts themselves at danger. Mommas…give yourself a break and peace of mind with this product!
