Night of the Living Dead is one of those movies that people frequently tout when forced to name the greatest horror movies of all time, yet many of those same people have only seen it once or twice. Barbara and her brother Johnny are visiting a cemetery when they’re attacked by a zombie.

Barbara survives and runs to a deserted farmhouse to hide.

She meets several other people and they have to survive the zombie attacks together and hopefully manage to make it out alive.

I really have to say that this movie has some good parts, but it really doesn’t hold up well to time.

      • I can understand why Romero became the king of zombie movies, but some things seemed really dated in this movie.

This was probably one of the first times that a black man was shown on film rescuing a white woman, though the end takes away from that some.

        I’ve seen this movie many

times over the years and that ending still gets to me.

It seems racist and shocking and sad all at the same time.

This movie set the standard for the zombie genre, but there’s a reason it’s been remade so many times given that it’s dated and special effects are just better today.
