  • When it comes to cameras my sister recommended Panasonic as she purchased a Lumix camera a couple of years ago which she was and still is very impressed with
  • I saw a number of cameras on display in the store where I bought it from, but for me Panasonic reminds me of Sony in that they are brands well known for their build quality, sophistication and longevity
  • I was also prepared to fork out a little extra money for something high-end as when it comes to these sorts of goods I prefer to pay more money for something on condition that it will last a long time and fulfil the functions which I expect from it
  • I like the fact that it is slightly bigger than some of those super-small/ slim cameras out there
  • I would definitely recommend it somebody who is looking to spend a little money on a powerful and camera that they intend to use for a long time

When it comes to cameras my sister recommended Panasonic as she purchased a Lumix camera a couple of years ago which she was and still is very impressed with. So with that in mind I purchased a Panasonic Lumix digital camera a TZ4 to be exact, which set me back £210.

I saw a number of cameras on display in the store where I bought it from, but for me Panasonic reminds me of Sony in that they are brands well known for their build quality, sophistication and longevity. I absolutely love this camera. Apart from the fact that it feels solid and very well put together, the picture quality is very impressive. It has a 10x Optical Zoom which makes all the difference; it can pick out and magnify objects from a long distance and bring them up with fantastic clarity and detail.

On a superficial note, it is also a very nice looking camera. I like the fact that it is slightly bigger than some of those super-small/ slim cameras out there; I think that it looks a ...

      • little bit old-school and there is an element of minimalism about it which is something that I love especially as I am a fan of modern electrical goods which have a retro styling to them. Maybe it’s just me, but I think that it gives them a more sophisticated look unlike new-style electrics (especially cameras) which have whistles and bells everywhere.

I also find it very easy to use. Ok, so it isn’t exactly loaded with features but that it not what I bought it for. I think that if you are looking for something that will take excellent quality photos then who cares about the added extras? My principal concern is quality

of build and output, and this camera has certainly demonstrated the latter and I am sure that the build quality will prove itself over time.

With exception of the lack of fancy features I cannot find any negatives with this camera. I paid a little extra money to purchase a leather case and it looks great. I have awarded this camera 9 out of 10 as I am very impressed with it. I would definitely recommend it somebody who is looking to spend a little money on a powerful and camera that they intend to use for a long time. I am going travelling next spring and am really looking forward to getting my money’s worth in high-quality photographs.
