The season three premier episode of Supernatural was called The Magnificent Seven. This episode picks up from the season finale the year before where Dean and Sam managed to beat the yellow eyed demon, but in the process opened up the gate to Hates.

I thought the episode was only okay, not great but not terrible either.

I really like the character of Ellen and even though she was in the season finale the year before and an integral part of the show, they wrote her out without even a mention of where she

        might be.

I was excited to see Bobby come back, especially since he had the chance to role play like the two lead characters often do.

It also introduced the character of Ruby, someone I’ve never been very fond of.

I like the show better when it focuses only on the main characters.
