Terminal ONE Lounge is one of the place where Daniel and I frequent a lot, and I find that it has evolved to become one of the main players in the clubbing scene in Kuching. Whether it is weekdays or weekends, the place is always packed with people, especially Friday nights, Saturday nights and on public holiday eves, where finding a parking space (which are aplenty) there is like hitting jackpot.

The main colour theme of the club is neon blue, with slightly more futuristic renovations and settings. There are 2 areas which are staged up for larger groups of people having functions or events, complete with leather sofa sets and LCD screens. The

bar area is quite long as well, attached with 3 DraughtKegs - Tiger, Carlsberg and Kilkenny as well as dozens of bar stools. Behind that bar is a display cabinet of a rich range of liquors, vodkas, tequilas and the sorts for customers to choose from. There is also a projector showing mostly sports broadcasts, and usually it would be LIVE telecasts of the English Premier League football matches, which Daniel and I always watch while we down our beers.

The rest of the space is occupied with tables that seats 4 to 6 people and a pool table, with plenty of space to move or groove with house musics controlled by the DJ ...

      • on the stage set up above the bar. Plus, there are fire/flair bar-tending shows, exclusively done by Danny, and I would say that this is one of the only two clubs in Kuching (the other one being the sister club of Terminal ONE Lounge called Lounge II) that has such a display of talents by local bartenders.

Being regulars at the club, both Daniel and I got to know the owners of the club - Jack and Bibiana (yea, they are married, and also owns the said Lounge II after the success of Terminal ONE Lounge), who is the friendlies of club owners we’ve known so far. They always find time to chat

around with us, and at times give us promotional vouchers on drinks, additional discounts on beers and freebies. I think that’s how they manage to capture the hearts of their customers, build long lasting relationships with them, and secures loyal customers who comes back every time. Furthermore, the waiters and waitresses are friendly, with very high PR (Public Relations) skills, thus are able to better serve their customers.

Overall, I think Terminal 1 Lounge will continue to strive in what they do best in the clubbing and entertainment scene, and will surely be around for many years to come. With the opening of Lounge II early 2008, it shows that they are doing it right.
