After trying many Internet connections in my life, both wired and wi fi, I finally zeroed down on the Airtel WI-FI broadband Internet connection last month.

I called them for a connection and their people came down to my house with all the forms to be filled, within a couple of hours. After all verifications, their technical team came back after three days with all the equipment needed.

I was appreciated their way of working. They were really fast and

neat in fitting all cables up to the wi fi unit and also concealed the cables in a casing caping batten.

With all the neat looks provided, they proceeded to fit the wi fi unit and after doing it, the technicians sealed this unit with the help of a sealing hot glue gun.

The whole procedures took the airtel two teams nearly four long hours, to complete the work with such precision. The Airtel staff is also taught to be ...

      • courteous and they paid attention to all our queries and instructions.

Their engineer finally arrived and matched my wi fi laptop to the wi fi unit and the Internet started efficiently. He even gave me a password to protect this open net connection from being used by others, without permission.

I am too happy with the speed of around 300 kbps as against the 256 kbps speed promised. The connection is blazing fast even in the absence of the normal

wires. I love working wirelessly, as it is so comfortable carrying the laptop all around my house, with the wi fi connectivity at its peak in all forms.

It is very rare that the connectivity falls from very good or good to low, but that is only when I take the laptop at a larger distance away from the wireless router.

I have noticed that the wi fi connection works very effectively in a radius of around 30 feet and weakens beyond.

I asked for wifi connection. ur executive told my system reqiuired wireless lan card . not sure . how do i find out wheather my system has wireless card or not
    Jules Li says :

If you have a laptop you likely have a wireless card, but if you have a desktop, you may not. Once place to check is within the device manager. Click on start and enter device manager in the search box and press enter. This should pull up the device manager. Click on the plus next to network adapters. If you have a wireless card, it will be listed here.

Sharath, the Touch has built in wi fi capabilities, so you want need any other hardware to access Airtel’s Wi-Fi connection.
    Galega says :

You need to have some device to get Internet connection. Use your phone or laptop for the same. Put Portable Wifi Option ON and give necessary permission. Now, you can connect any device with it.

You can get Airtel Wifi Connection in Lucknow. It is available throughout India.

I would suggest you to go for Airtel Wifi Hotspot plan. That is superior than anyone in the market in terms of Internet speed and affordable tariff plans. You will be required to invest Rs. 999 to get hooked. After that, you will be needed to spend Rs. 399 (the minimum) for one month - 50 GB.

hi,i want wi-fi plan for my home.i want a unlimited plan for 500 with good speed.
    Galega says :

Just dial 198 from your Airtel mobile phone and follow the instructions. After taking your address, an executive will visit you and, if you want, can install the WiFi immediately. You can also visit any Airtel Office near you to get it installed.

There is a 499 unlimited plan. You can opt for that one.

i want to know the speed of wi-fi nd its details with charges.
    Jules Li says :

The Wi-Fi speeds will vary based on your plan. However, here’s a link to the plans that list the details and fees:
    Galega says :

Speed will never be the same as promised. I have used 2Mbps speed, but never got the stated bandwidth. In fact, it is rarely half of what the company has promised. Even then, the tariff plans are good and 1 Mbps can be quite good for home use. You should call your customer care to have the tariff plan as per your area. Plans are different for all 23 circles in India. It is quite low in Delhi and Bihar.

i want to know the wi-fi speed nd its details with charges.
    Jules Li says :

The speeds can operate up to 4 MBPS, but this can vary based on your plan. You can view the plans and prices here:
    Galega says :

Currently, Airtel offers up to 16 Mbps of speed through its WiFi or broadband plan. There are two main tariff structure for these high speed plans - 1649 and 1849. These two plans are generally used by business firms.

For local use, I would suggest you to try 1 - 4 Mbps plan. That is quite cheap and generally costs you lower than Rs. 500 per month. Contact Airtel on 198 (with Airtel Mobile) to get further details.
    Hunny Kataria says :

Can you please tell the name of plan whick u are saying will coatcost rs500 for the local having speed 1 to 4 mbps thanks
    Galega says :

Contact your Airtel customer care. The plan is Rs. 499 for up to 2 Mbps in Delhi.

Further, I would suggest you to try 4G (if you are from Mumbai Chennai or Hyderabad). The 4G plan are even cheaper in these cities (Airtel has just launched 4G in these three cities - 2015)
    Pallavi says :

Hi i want to take airtel wifi connection. we are living in Delhi. can u plz tell me to whom we have to contact. i am trying alot but the details i am not getting in the internet.
    Jules Li says :

Pallavi, I assume you want to purchase the service. I suggest accessing the website, here’s a link:
    Galega says :

Wherever you might be in Delhi, you will find an Airtel Office near your area. They have offices throughout Delhi. If you are using an Airtel Mobile connection, you can call their customer care to know details about it (dial 198 from your mobile for this purpose and follow the instructions).

When I was in Delhi, I had used Airtel WiFi connection. It is quite easy to get and installed.
    vishal says :

hi, cn u plz snd me the plans of wifi. i want a part time unlimited plan wid a budget of 500 to 600 wid a good speed.
    Jules Li says :

Vishal, here’s a link to Airtel’s website to view all plans :
    Galega says :

    Hi Vishal,

There is NO UNLIMITED PLAN with a budget of Rs. 500 to Rs. 600. However, you can get a plan in Rs. 699. Contact your nearest Airtel Store (which is scattered throughout India) for details.

I would like to mention here that the Rs. 699 unlimited plan will give you speed of up to 2 mbps (download and upload speed are far much below, in practice). Further, you may get quite frustrating speed during peak hours.
