You must really be a fan of independent urban films to grasp the poignant story of these two brothers. If you are looking for lots of “Boyz in the Hood” type violence, you will only be mildly satisfied.

This film meanders between sensitive drama, and urban action flick.

There are a few tender scenes, and of course some

obligatory romance between Ricky and his girlfriend.

Basically, Ricky gets out of jail and is lured back into a life of mischief by a friend of his.

Because he feels indebted to his friend for saving him, he agrees to take part in some silly scandal involving a “beef” with some rival guys in the neighborhood.

      There ...

      • is a lot of back and forth action going on, with both sides vowing to get even (but for WHAT??”) In the end, there is the obligatory killing (or killings) and the lesson that is to ultimately be learned from it all.

What I learned from watching this is that urban films from overseas can be just as

corny as the ones in the U.

        S.

        I liked this movie.

But I was really expecting a lot more action, and some more supporting stories to carry the plot.

        I was a tad disappointed.

But it was good to see people of color acting in something that is a little more realistic than typical African American films.
