What was the essence of ‘The Fountain’, the film work of Darren Aronofsky (requiem for a Dream) is this? Search will be eternal life or melodrama about true love? I think, after witnessing film, is a combination of both and is not too bad.

Stories run parallel between Tomas (Hugh Jackman), a conquistador of the Kingdom of Spain in the 16th century, over the command of Queen Isabella (Rachel Weisz) to explore local Maya tribes to search for the truth Tree of Life has tell by the Gospel before. In the

21st century, Tommy (Hugh Jackman), a doctor, try to find the middle of drugs to cure brain tumors in battling wife, Izzi (Rachel Weisz), who is writing a book entitled The Fountain, which recounts the story of what happened in the 16th century before. Switching to the 26th century, when a man named Tom (Hugh Jackman) and a tree to travel between galactic in a bubble toward a group of stars and see the performance of the female figure named Izzi (Rachel Weisz).

First, I must remind, this movie is not for everyone cup of coffee. Attention and consistency needed in the watch, if not the film will feel dizzy and difficult to understand. Scenes in the edit non-linear, so as up to one another. Even if the snow did our style is needed to describe the emotion in narration. Arofnosky spoil himself with a combination of visual fantasy narrative with a bite. Sometimes highly philosophical, or even absurd, but also very touching on the other.

In the dense content of drama, ‘The Fountain’ to invite spectator to contemplation fact of life ...

will be questioned in the strength of a true love, fear of death and desire to achieve eternal life. Portrayal of the tree not only as a gimmick in the narration, but participates as one of the main characters that play an important role in the movie integralities overall. The tree itself symbolizes the bullpen as a Circle of life that would not want to be received.

‘The Fountain’ as a fantasy tale in the style of melodrama, history, myth and science-fiction that mingled. Aronofsky may be too over-the-top in making

this movie and this movie may feel incompetent. But at least he feels sincere in spirit to tell with such a large scale without a certain hidden agenda. He only wants to tell, through visual fantasy, about a man and woman who love it and want to find the essence of eternal life to continue living forever with the women. And when Hugh Jackman (albeit in some scenes in the 16th century to it feels Van Helsing once) and Rachel Weisz play well once, this movie feels so become more solid.
