Dawn of the Dead (1978) is George A. Romero’s sequel to his classic zombie film Night of the Living Dead (1968). Romero ups the ante in this sequel, which may in fact be better than the original.

In Dawn of the Dead, zombies have overrun much of the country. A SWAT team raiding an apartment

Dawn of the Dead is an enthralling film. It has its share of blood and guts, but none it over the top or excessive. The characters are well-developed, and acted equally as well.

As he did with Night of the Living Dead, George Romero has again commented satirically on society in this film. This time, issues of the 1970s are addressed, such as greed and materialism. Romero also sets numerous subplots against the zombie background, resulting in a movie that is captivating on many levels.

Dawn of the Dead is one of my personal favorite films, and I would definitely recommend it to viewers.
