If you have kids I am sure that you have heard of the Nintendo Wii. It has been THE hot toy at Christmas for the past few years and I am sure this year will be no different. My kids got a Wii from Santa last Christmas so we’ve had almost a year to try it out.

The thing that I love the most about the Wii is that it makes you get up and move. The Wii remotes replace the traditional controller. They are wireless and can sense movement. They run on AA batteries and have
a wrist strap to keep it from flying out of your hand. The wii comes with 1 wii remote and 1 nunchuck. Additional remotes cost $40 and nunchucks are around $20.

The Wii comes with Wii Sports. Wii Sports is a collection of games to get you started with your Wii. It includes baseball, golf, bowling, tennis and boxing. In order to play the games you will use your Wii remotes like the tool you are wanting to use on screen. For example, in bowling you will mimic the tradional bowling movement in order to bowl on ...

      • screen. These games are a lot of fun and will help you get used to your Wii.

The Wii itself comes with many great features. If you have a wireless connection you can use your Wii online. You can play against friends, download games and more. There’s also a weather channel, a place to share pictures and a place to create your own miis. A mii in an avatar that you use in the games. There are a lot of different styles so you can really customize it to look like yourself if you want.

The Wii has a lot of games that are exclusive to the wii such as Animal Crossing and Mario Kart. It also has a nice selection of games that are not exclusive to the wii such as Iron Man. Remember all the games that were around when Nintendo was first released? You can download versions onto your Wii and play with the classic controller. (sold separately $25)

There are many things about the Wii that appeal to adults as well as kids. This is a gaming system that your whole family can enjoy. We have had a lot of fun with ours!
