Hell Boy with Ron Perlman and John Hurt. This is another of those movies that brings life to a comic book personality, but it is more of an adventure than a satire.

I did like this movie because it had a beginning, a middle, and an end.

What I mean is that it was a straight forward story that explained everything in very simple terms.

Ron Perlman shined through his effective makeup.

He carries off a realistic version of a human devil combination because the cigar in his mouth makes him not too scary ...

      • but a force to fear just the same.

The other creatures look like they came out of the famous bar scene from Star Wars, comical strange muppets.

I liked the special effects because they complemented the story rather than overpower it.

I am glad that the love triangle was

not exaggerated, but it did serve to make Hell Boy a little more sympathetic.

So, basically it was a good versus evil movie without any misdirections or unexpected twists.

It had plenty of action and an intriguing storyline.

I believe that it can be called a cult film and should not be missed.
