“Customer Survey” is the seventh episode of season five of The Office on NBC. This episode deals with the aftermath of Holly being reassigned and also delves into how the sales department is reviewed, based on customer reviews. This allows Dwight and Jim the chance to team up for the first time in a long time. And we get to see Pam’s thoughts throughout the show because she and Jim basically stay on the phone with

each other all day long, thanks to Pam’s purchase of a pair of tiny bluetooth-type headsets.

Dwight absolutely owned this episode, especially his reactions to Jim’s mumbled conversations with Pam. Dwight thinks Jim is talking to himself, especially when Jim tells Pam, in Dwight’s earshot, that he loves her.

Jim also carries the show with his dry wit and his facial reactions as he frequently shares information with Pam. The way they know each other’s thoughts is ...

      • cute but not sappy. They have grown together like a real couple in a real relationship. As all Office fans know, they are the only two normal people on the entire show.

Jim has the best scene with Dwight and Michael as they roleplay Dwight making a sales call, with Jim as the customer. Michael’s coaching during the exercise is classic, as Dwight can do nothing right in Michael’s eyes despite Jim’s playing games with him

        during the exercise.

I loved the various bits in the episode, from Jim and Pam talking to each other the whole time, to the telephone roleplaying, to Andy’s planning the wedding with Angela, and finally with Kelly’s schemes against Dwight and Jim just because they skipped her “America’s Got Talent” finale party the previous summer.

This was a great episode! The Office is really hitting its stride this fall. I give this epsiode a strong 8 out of 10.
