I was watching the film Planet of the Apes on TV the other day and have to say, considering when the movie was made, it is still one of the better science fiction tales you will come across. There are two reasons I feel this way.

      One is the make up.

      The apes, though somewhat

fake, are still believable and you don’t have a lot of fake scenery.

      Second is the plot.

You have a planet full of apes.

But, you also have a story of reversed roles.

Not only are the apes the dominant species and experiment on the lower-intelligent humans; you also have the whole reversed evolution thing ...

      • going.

Apes don’t want to admit the humans were on the planet first and they don’t want to believe they evolved from them; sounds like a lot of religious arguments you have today.

Mix that in with plenty of action and an ironic twist at the end and you have a movie that remains a

        classic even today.

In fact, when they came out with that remake a few years ago, I refused to watch it.

        You can’t improve on perfection.

If you haven’t seen this movie before, I would recommend getting it one evening.

And, if you like what you see, which I suspect you will, be sure to get the sequels to it as well.
