I’m a big fan of political thrillers; as long as they are fast paced and make you think while entertaining you. The movie Vantage Point has some of the makings of a great movie but takes things a bit too far in terms of trying to do too much.

The plot of Vantage Point is a unique one.

      Terrorists shoot the

president of the United States as he’s about to make a speech in Spain.

However, that turns out to be a distraction, not their real intention.

Dennis Quaid is the secret service agent who has to figure things out and stop them despite the confusion.

The movie would have been perfect if it weren’t for the fact the filmmakers decided they ...

      • wanted to re-tell the same story over and over again from different points of view.

While it made the movie somewhat different, I think it made it a bit confusing as well.

For one, you lose track of time in the movie and, when it’s done, it takes you a while to realize the whole thing is supposed to have taken

place over a matter of maybe 20 minutes.

I did like the fact you were kept guessing throughout though.

You have seemingly innocent events being important to the plot and you don’t know for sure who is a good guy and who is a bad guy until the very end.

If you can get past that whole replaying of the assassination part, I think you will enjoy this movie.
