STORYLINE The movie opens with the Wildcats playing their final championship game. Though they trail during the first half, the seniors in the team realize that they need to play their best game as it will their last. And that is essentially what High School Musical Senior Year is all about.

The seniors in East High have their yearbook, annual play, senior prom, and college life to plan. While it’s a very exciting year for them, it’s also a very sentimental one.

ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR When I watched the first movie, I was entertained by the love story between Troy

and Gabriella as well as the part played by Sharpee Evans. In its third installment, the same storyline is still consistent, but in a much broader scale. The love story isn’t just limited to singing together in secret, but has now blossomed into something more tangible and realistic. Troy and Gabriella spend time together both inside and outside of school. Troy even supports the annual musical for Gabriella. He even goes as far as choosing a college which is near hers as well. As for Sharpee, her attraction for Troy still exists to the extent that she spills ...

      • some of Gabriella’s secrets. However, she meets a girl from a different school who ends up being her nemesis in the movie.

Aside from the storyline, the songs and dances also add entertainment to the film. I think the choreography and sounds were put together really well. In comparison to the first two movies, this one really dazzled me.

WHAT I LIKED Well I really liked the choreography. Some songs, especially Troy’s solo “Scream” was horrible. But the choreography was excellent. I liked the use of colors, beats, and sounds to enhance each movement made. It was really, really

        impressive.

In terms of the scenes, I loved the graduation scene where the cast wore white and red ensembles. The transition from the play to the actual graduation and back again was very nicely done as well.

FINAL VERDICT The movie is quite cheesy because of its sub-par storyline. While some lines and scenes are nice enough, this is nothing like Titanic. It does however compensate with very nice dances and performances from the stars. I admire the cast for being versatile enough to sing, act, and dance. Obviously, this is a movie for students, but as a graduate, I really enjoyed it. Two thumbs up!
