North Promonade North Shore Blackpool UK
  • I would recommend this place above the Bed and breakfasts and other hotels but not as good as the Hilton or the Imperial which is next door

When staying up in Blackpool with some friends we stayed at the Park House Hotel on the seafront which is located up on the North promenade on North shore. The hotel doesn’t look that inspiring from the outside but it does have a car park and three AA and RAC stars.

Inside the décor is quite old but well maintained, but it gives the feel that the hotel is for elder residents. The reception and lobby area’s were very nice and checking in took around ten minutes while they told us the rules about what to do at night once the front

door was locked. The keys are like they used to be, not the new key cards but the old fashioned keys with massive block style key fobs with the name and the address of the hotel printed on them.

The room I had was up on the top floor but it did have sea views which was nice. The room had two beds in there and a nice clean en suite, the room though was quite cramped but is was ideal for what I wanted as it was a base for our weekend in Blackpool.

The hotel doesn’t have any leisure facilities as ...

      • I said earlier is mainly aimed for the older residents, with evening entertainment like Len on the Piano and Margie on the Organ. They took in turn on alternative nights to perform and then on a weekend they used the massive ballroom with tea dances and functions in the evening.

The restaurant was very nice although we only ate there on one night and then again for the breakfast which were cooked to order. The service was excellent and the food was also very good and good value for money. The waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and helpful.

The night porter was also very helpful and let us in when we came back late.

Overall the hotel is very nice and suited our needs and budget but it would be better suited to the older visitors to Blackpool. Its location is away from the Pleasure Beach and South Pier but it is ideal for the night life and the town centre and the Blackpool Tower. I would recommend this place above the Bed and breakfasts and other hotels but not as good as the Hilton or the Imperial which is next door. The hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly.
