I was flipping channels this morning before work and came across one of my favorite MASH episodes; “War of Nerves.”

This episode features Sidney Freeman, one of my favorite minor characters, as he ends up at the 4077th with a head injury. While there, he is asked to give therapy to the various MASH regulars because

the whole camp is showing signs of extreme stress and Potter is afraid it will all blow up at some point.

There are two great things about this episode. First is the individual therapy sessions; especially the ones featuring Margaret and Winchester as they spend their time complaining about each other. Margaret complains because Winchester touched ...

      • his nose in surgery and won’t fess up and Winchester complains because he feels she’s obsessed with him.

Then of course you also have Klinger realizing that he might be really turning insane after he thinks he actually likes dressing in drag rather than doing it as a way out of the army.

        The best part

though is the bon-fire that is being built throughout the episode that has everything from old wooden crates to Col. Potter’s desk being burned. I have to say there are days I wish we would do something like that at my job; just to relieve some stress.

This is definitely one of the series’ most memorable episodes.
