  • Overall It is a hotel I would recommend, not too pricey, but a reasonably high quality, it has a good feel to it and it is in a good location on the strip and on the beach

      Location

The Sandy Beach hotel is located on the main strip of road between Dhekelia and Larnaca, so it is only a couple of kilometres from the centre of town and all that shopping. It is also right on the beach so you definitely feel like you’re on holiday when you arrive.

The Larnaca Strip as it is known is a buy line of bars, clubs and restaurants so it can be lively at night, but as long as you get a room overlooking the sea you should be shielded from the noise.

      The hotel

is flanked on either side by other hotels and the pool and beach are closely overlooked by the closest hotel which is only 50 metres away which certainly makes you feel a little enclosed.

      Rooms

The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable, so to be honest there was nothing detrimental or exceptional about the room. Mine didn’t have fridge which was a shame as we wanted to keep water cold for the hot days, but we had a cool bag anyway.

      Pool

The pool is one of the best features ...

      • of this hotel. There are actually two pools, one is a conventional shape where you can swim ‘laps’ and the other is a really funky shape with a bridge over it and a children’s pool on the side of it. This pool is surrounded by trees and flowering plants so it is a really relaxing atmosphere. There is a pool bar too, so you can enjoy a cold beer, or Keo as it is locally whilst you relax

        Beach

There is a sandy beach, as you would expect, right near the pool.

Although it is not a big beach at 100 metres long, it is nice and sandy and there is a lifeguard and plenty of beds and umbrellas. The sea water is shallow and is sheltered by a breakwater so it is really safe for the children.

        Overall

It is a hotel I would recommend, not too pricey, but a reasonably high quality, it has a good feel to it and it is in a good location on the strip and on the beach. Shame it is overlooked, but you can’t have everything.
