  • I think it may be because it looks so simple that it makes you think I can do this but then you end up in the river anyway Still, I did manage to get a few frogs to safety, but never all of them in a single game

Frogger is a classic video game from the 1980s and one I never had the opportunity to play before. I discovered today I could play it online for free. This is a very entertaining but challenging game. The concept is simple: guide a frog across both a road and a river to reach a lily pad. Sound simple, doesn’t it? Getting across the road is kind of easy, but the river crossing is much harder. You need to time your moves carefully,

      especially while on the river.

I quickly found myself addicted to this vintage game and I was determined to beat the river, getting the frog to safety. The trouble is the logs keep moving and the turtles you use for stepping-stones often sink under the water. If your frog lands in the river, he dies. I’m not sure why that is, as frogs can swim, but that’s how it is in this game. There are also what appear to be poison red ...

      • berries at the far end and if your frog jumps onto those instead of the lily pad he dies. I’ve killed many an innocent frog while playing this game. Still, I find myself playing it over and over for some reason Maybe I’m just stubborn. I think it may be because it looks so simple that it makes you think “I can do this” but then you end up in the river anyway Still, I did manage to get a
few frogs to safety, but never all of them in a single game.

The graphics are very bright and colorful. The various items, like cars and logs, move smoothly. The controls are very simple, too. Just use the arrow keys to move your frog. But be careful: I’ve sometimes pushed the key too hard and the frog moved two spaces instead of one. The frog can move in all four directions, something I didn’t know at first when I first started playing this game.
