This is another fun horror movie about some mutant fish that invade the Louisiana Bayou. The movie stars Mark Dippe and Tory Kittles. I admit I was unsure what to expect when I first picked it up, mainly due to the movie’s name. But the movie was surprisingly good! Once it started, it kept my attention on the screen until the very end. The tone stays serious throughout the film and there are no really funny moments. The movie

has many intense moments and it’s also suspenseful. The setting of the isolated bayou with its wide slow river surrounded by thick tangles of trees adds to the creepiness. The mutant fish could be anywhere under the water and you’ll never see them until they bite you.

The plot is well thought out and filmed very well. It’s about two investigators who are sent downriver to find the cause of a death. A body had been found in the river ...

      • with unknown animal bites on it. They know a creature did it but they’re unsure what as no one had ever seen anything like this before. Soon the investigators find themselves trapped on some houseboats in the bayou (swamp) with hungry creatures swimming in the water. The creatures are a genetically engineered cross between a snake and a fish (but they look like giant fish) and they can breath out of water. The frankenfish are very vicious and can
smell blood from a distance. They also can leap straight out of the water at unsuspecting victims. Worst, they have lost their only working boat and now they’re stuck on the floating houseboats as the hungry predators close in.

Yes, maybe it sounds a bit stupid but it’s a very good creature movie! If you enjoy these types of movies, you’ll have fun. Since the first time I’ve seen it, I’ve viewed it many times and still find it a great creature feature.
