  • I thought they would probably deviate too far from the original genius of the films, and it just wouldn't have the same feel to it
  • My only complaint about the car would be that sometimes it looked a bit too cartoonish (I don't think that's the right word for it, but I struggle to find an adequate description), rather than a real car that was making that face or those gestures

Growing up, I was a die hard Herbie fan. So, when they made another Herbie movie, starring Lindsay Lohan, I had to watch it because… it was Herbie!

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting too much. I thought they would probably deviate too far from the original genius of

the films, and it just wouldn’t have the same feel to it. Pleasantly, I was surprised to discover that they stuck as close to the original Herbie feel as possible, while still creating a new story in a new time.

The movie was a lot of fun. Lindsay does a wonderful job in her part as a woman coming of age in a racing family. Herbie, well, they kept Herbie’s personality, which actually made me giddy. The car was just great. They gave him a lot of that same Herbie-ness,

and they were, of course, able to do more with the car CGI-wise. So, the movements actually looked more real. My only complaint about the car would be that sometimes it looked a bit too cartoonish (I don’t think that’s the right word for it, but
I struggle to find an adequate description), rather than a real car that was making that “face” or those “gestures”. But, that’s really nit-picky, and I had to wrack my brain to even think of that “complaint”.

Bottom line, this movie is a lot of fun, and a great family film.

I’ve seen it only once and I agree that it doesn’t look real at all. They should have tried more yet, this was just a start for better effects era after it.
