The Phantom stars Billy Zane, Kristy Swanson, Treat Williams, and James Remar. As another movie version of a comic hero, this movie turned out to be interesting, but pretty laid back.

The Phantom, alias Kit Walker, saves the world from the evil Xander Drax and his quest for

Supernatural power acquired by uniting the skulls of Tuganda.

There is also the sinister Singh Brotherhood that is thrown in for mysterious effect, but rather shallow and did not really affect the movie.

Billy Zane gives an emotionless portrayal of our hero and his seemingly bored attitude also made me bored ...

      • with the movie.

Good over Evil has been done a million times and nothing seems to differentiate this one from the others.

The love relationship with Kristy Swanson is also poorly done as I did not really like the woman’s lib attitude that she portrayed and thus could have cared less

        for them together.

The music was okay but not dramatic.

The special effects necessary for this genre of film was almost non-existent.

The Phantom claims that “Nobody Refuses The Phantom,” but this corny super hero parody will be easy for me to resist if I ever have the opportunity to see it again.
