I am a big fan of comics and their characters and cartoon shows. Batman is a character created by DC comics and there have been so many cartoon versions of this simple superhero. One of my favourite versions is a recent one named “The Batman.” This story unfolds little bu little and seems to follow the comic books accordingly which pleases me.

The latest episode I saw was entitled “A Matter of Family” which basically surrounds the story of Dick Grayson (Robin) and the story

behind how he came to be Batman’s sidekick or apprentice. I sat on the couch with my eyes on the television waiting to see how they would let this particular story unfold. I was happy to see that it happened just the way it did in the comic books, with his parents falling to their death while performing on a trapeze for an audience at the circus.

Bruce Wayne (Batman) decided he would take him in because he did not want Dick to suffer the ...

      • same fate he did, in wanting revenge for his parents death. Dick soon came to find out about Bruce’s secret though and Dick decided on his own to go out and find where Batman was at because he knew that he was hot on the trail of his parents killers.

Dick decided he would need a costume just like Bruce’s and decided to use the costume his mother made for him right before she died. It makes up the base of his costume and already

had an “R” sewed onto it, which stood for “Robin.” The nickname his mother gave him as well.

Robin did a wonderful job on his “first mission.” Helping Batman get out of a pinch and helping put the guy who killed his family in jail. He did not want revenge but justice. After a small talk between themselves, Batman decided he would father Robin “in his image” as Batman since he couldn’t be there as Bruce Wayne more often. And so, Robin enters the picture.
