Wyndham’s Orlando Resort is located on the very busy and highly populated International Dr. which is bad because the traffic can be horrendous and it can be difficult to find your way around if you make a wrong turn. It is good, however, in that there is a lot in walking distance: A great TGI Fridays across the street, a not-so great Pizzeria Uno across the street, liquor stores, entertainment, everything you could think of.

That being said, The resort is so huge that

there really isn’t much need to leave unless you want to go to a theme park or, if you are a poor student like me, if you want to eat at a cheaper restaurant. If that was the case, however, you probably should have stayed at a cheaper hotel!

I go there every year in October for the Screamfest horror convention, and the resort is able to hold the tens of thousands of convention goers very well. Even when it’s full, the resort is ...

      • so spread out that it never seems that crowded. There are two pools, one of which is huge and really lovely. There are also two very nice restaurants on site, both with great bars (tended by great bartenders!)

The rooms themselves are nicer than standard; I absolutely love the linens. However, I’ve never stayed there and not found a roach in my room. Usually it’s only one, but it’s still a little gross.

Again, the resort is very spread out which is great for conventions

and the like, but the downside is that there is probably a good chance that you will be staying a good walk away from the main convention center building. Also, it can take a little while to check in.

That’s why I recommend signing up for Wyndham rewards; there is an express check out and they set up your room with treats.

Overall, it’s a great resort, with friendly staff, great (if a little overly expensive) restaurants, great pools and above average sleeping accommodations.
