Maryland Route 50

      My husband and I went to Maryland’s Eastern Shore to visit my husband’s brother. We left from Alexandria Virginia. After leaving the Washington beltway we got on Route 50 and headed east past Anapolis Maryland home of the Naval Academy the Maryland State house and the waterfront. Pas Sandy Point State Park and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

      Once you cross the Bay Bridge you are on the Eastern shore


      of Maryland you go into Queen Anne’s County and over the Piney narrows bridge into Kent County. There are some suburban areas and then it becomes less populated as you head East. Looking down from the bridge you can see all sorts of sailboats and water craft.

      There is a huge prime outlet mall at the intersection of Route’s 50 and 301. I really enjoy shopping at this outlet ...


      • mall. Continuing on 50 wepass through tone of Easton with it’s decoy shops, and past the Salisbury pottery pewter store full of lots of items made from pewter.

        Between Easton and Cambridge there are lots of farms selling corn and other produce from the Eastern Shore. They are known for their excellent Eastern shore produce. This time of the year you have pumpkins out of course.

        Cambridge has Blackwater Wildlife

        Refuge which is a haven for Canadian geese and other waterfowl. They also have museums dealing with nautical history as well as numerous seafood houses. Going on past Cambridge there is Salisbury which has a zoo and Salisbury State Universtity.

        Going alittle further you have Ocean City Md.where your trip ends with visit to the Atlantic Ocean. The Eastern shore of Maryland is a wonderful place to visit anytime of the year.
