  • I love them, and I especially adore French fries
  • The cooking instructions are clear, and I like that it gives you a valid range to play with for the proper cooking time for your oven
  • It has an 'easy open' top end which does open easily, but what I don't like is that the fries, from being frozen, are often lumped together in two or three

One of my food vices is potatoes. I love them, and I especially adore French fries. I’m pretty finicky about my fries, though. I want them to be soft and hot and not oily. Some fast food restaurants really know how to make a good batch of fries, and others don’t

have a clue. It’s the same for the frozen fries you can buy in the store.

Over the years, though, I’ve been very happy with the consistency and reliability of Ore Ida products, particularly their Golden Fries product.

They taste great. The cooking instructions are clear, and I like that it gives you a valid range to play with for the proper cooking time for your oven. I actually use a convection oven for much of my cooking, so those times are very valuable since the convection cooks food faster.

Though the item is promoted as ‘crispier outside, tender inside’, with their reliable cooking range, I’ve been able to find ...

the ideal cooking time that gets their product exactly the way I like them, which is soft out and tender inside. If I want crispy, which I don’t, I can let them cook longer.

In recent times, I’ve been purchasing the 32oz package. It has an ‘easy open’ top end which does open easily,

but what I don’t like is that the fries, from being frozen, are often lumped together in two or three. That isn’t a factor in cooking really, but it is in getting them to slide out of the package. I wish they’d make it a resealable top, or make that opening a tad longer.

      Good stuff, though!
