50 First Dates stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This classic love story takes place in beautiful Oahu, Hawaii, and aside from this location, it was clearly a clone of the Wedding Singer that also starred these two actors. Aside from this fact, I loved the film.

Sandler and Barrymore are a great romantic match and tears always come to my eyes when he sings to his lovemate. Barrymore is so cute as she plays a sweet, naive girl and Sandler is so honest in his love for her.

The song is almost the same tune, but that is okay too.

In short, the story is about a young lady who was injured in an auto accident and relives each day fresh as she wakes up, not remembering anything that happened that day.

Sandler is against falling in love, but cannot stop himself when he meets Drew. You share his frustration, but also pull for him to succeed each day as he tries to get her to remember the first date they enjoyed.

There are some short comic scenes that make the movie fun to watch such as Peanut Butter Cups in eggs, a walrus vomiting all over a woman from Germany, and an ...

      • old Hawaiian Man who blurts out lines such as, “Are you looking at me or her because you are starting to freak me out”. I feel that the best scene happens at the end of their first breakfast together, and each does a happy dance hidden from the other.

Then the car that shields them pulls out, and they catch each other in this happy dance. I think that we have all felt this happy dance after a first kiss with a new lover.

Her father and brother have worked hard for a year to keep her from realizing her defect,

but with deceptive tricks. Also, Sandler pulls the same deceptions.

When they all realize that exposing Drew to the truth is the right way to go, she starts to move forward to a future with Sandler. He makes a video for her and forces her to face her reality each morning.

When her father asks Sandler “What do you get out of this?” and he answers, “I don’t know, but wouldn’t you want to spend the rest of your life with her,” you truly understand the depth of his love for her. Of course, as in the Wedding Singer they marry and live happily ever after…and that’s okay.
