600 Airport Boulevard Burlingame, CA 94010
  • While its location is certainly not the most convenient compared to the other hotels in the vicinity, it makes up for it with its amenities and friendly and helpful staff
  • As with many hotels, it can be overpriced and not really that great - I would recommend trying one of the nearby eateries in Burlingame
  • First time visitors to San Francisco may want something a little closer to the city as this hotel is about 20 to 30 minutes away by car, but if that's not an issue, it offers a great value for its rates

The Sheraton Gateway Hotel is one of the hotels located near the San Francisco International Airport (SFO). While its location is certainly not the most convenient compared to the other hotels in the vicinity, it makes up for it with its amenities and friendly and helpful staff. I have personally stayed at the hotel on a regular basis in the past couple of years. There is a free shuttle that brings you to and from the airport, though it does take some time,

approximately 10 minutes on average, for the shuttle to arrive at the airport (make sure you call the airport using the white courtesy phone). Check-in is at 3pm, but during the low seasons, they can easily accommodate you if you arrive earlier or store your luggage for you while you wait. The (free) trolley stops at the Sheraton and will bring you to downtown Burlingame where there are various shops and restaurants to choose from.

The rooms are quite lovely - if on ...

      • the small side for regular rooms. The sweet sleeper beds are wonderful to sleep on - you might not want to get up once you’ve tried them! The sheets are luxurious and soft, decorated tastefully in deep burgundies and golden yellows. There is a charge for wifi though, which can be steep at $10 per 24 hours.

The staff is friendly and helpful, ask them what some are the nearby places to eat and visit.

The food at the restaurant can be hit-or-miss, however. As

with many hotels, it can be overpriced and not really that great - I would recommend trying one of the nearby eateries in Burlingame.

Over-all the Sheraton Gateway Suites is ideal for a weekend getaway or for business travelers in the area. First time visitors to San Francisco may want something a little closer to the city as this hotel is about 20 to 30 minutes away by car, but if that’s not an issue, it offers a great value for its rates.
