I’ve had the pleasure of seeing a concert three times now at Cruzan Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, FL. Actually, it used to be called,”The Sound Advice” amphitheater.

I have to preface by saying that half the fun is the tailgating picnic that happens before the event! People get there a good 3 hours early and park in the lot. Then they set up grills and drag out their coolers and prepare to party like the Superbowl!

We went to see John Mayer there last year and we did partake in the pre-party in the parking lot. It was fun. Lots

of people that all like John Mayer as much as we do and they’re all obviously out for a good time.

I did realize a good deal of these partiers just own season tickets and don’t really seem to care who is playing!

After the pre-party, we made our way to the Amphitheater and after handing in our tickets, we found there is this huge concessions area where you can several types of food as well as places to buy beer, soda, water and even coffee. They also have th merchandise booth here selling John Mayer tour merchandies.

      We spent a ...

      • long time at a picnic table in this area, having a few beers and some fries and eventually another couple asked if they could share our table and we said “yes.” We ended up having a ball sitting talking with these two Mayer fans while waiting for the concert to start.

Then finally, we heard the lead on act, Ben Folds start and eventually we made it to our seats. The place is awesome. It’s stadium style seating so no seat is really bad. The sound system was fantastic and after Ben Folds played with an appearance from

John Mayer, the man himself and his band finally came out on stage. He put on a hell of a show and the sound, lights and atmosphere were flawless!

When we left, we expected a mess getting out, but it actually wasn’t all that bad. We did get into some traffic, but only momentarily. It may have been because we waited about 5 minutes before even trying to leave. Really though, compared to other concert venues, leaving here was not at all bad.

I recommend this for concert experiences. I like it way better than many other Florida venues.

Is there a noise ordinanace or any noise restrictions on the Cruzan Ampitheater? Thank you
    Jules Li says :

Dayle, there is a decibel limit that bands have to comply with due to complaints from residents in the area.
