One our way down to Dover the family and I stopped of at Frankie and Bennies for dinner as our ferry wasn’t going till late and we were way ahead of schedule. The restaurant was at the Point in Bracknell and was only just out of our way we had found it on the satellite navigation and as we all like the food in these places decided and they are normally quite quick we would go there.

When we arrived the restaurant was very quiet it was a mid week night and there weren’t many people about. There also seemed to be a lack of

staff around as well and we waited a couple of minutes for someone to come and take us to our table. When then had to wait about ten minutes for our drinks and for someone to take our order.

As we knew that we had to be in Dover for a particular time and the service we had received so far was best described as slow we decided not to have a starter but order our main course and if we had time then we could have desert.

For our main course I ordered the meatballs which were ok they were a little on the cold side ...

      • as I had seen them sitting on the side for about five minutes before they were bought over I got the feeling that they had forgot to cook something so the meals were waiting on the side while they caught up. Lynds had the Spaghetti Carbonara which she said tasted great which was good. Kurt had the cheesy been pizza which he really enjoyed. The service again was slow which was a shame because the food that we had ordered did taste good.

We ordered another round of drinks when our main course arrived but they only came when they took our plates away

which was a little to late really. As everything was taking so long we decided not to risk waiting around for desert so we asked for the bill which again took another ten minutes to arrive, the we left.

Overall the food here was good but the service was appalling and as we were in a hurry we couldn’t really relax because we were clock watching which probably made them seem even slower. We won’t be trying this place again next time we go down to Dover we will either take a backed lunch come dinner or try somewhere else. We did make our ferry just.
