Our three and a half year old son loves his bed time story and won’t go to sleep without at least one a night, and at the moment he is really into dinosaurs. So we brought him a book which is written by Jane Yolen and is illustrated by Mark Teague. The book

is called How do dinosaurs learn colours and numbers? We always buy him books which are fun for him and he is interested in, but also that teach him things as well. This book is good because the words that say a colour are in that colour so as we read he picks ...

      • out the word so it also helps him with his spelling of colours. Just to give you a example ‘A red fire engine tucked under the bed’ the word red is in bold red so he can see the colour and he now knows what the word red looks like and they do
this with many different colours. The book also teaches him numbers, although he is very good with numbers but he loves to count all the different things the dinosaurs have. He loves this book and when he has finished with it, it will be passed down to our youngest son and hopefully be enjoyed all over again.
