      The coolest place to visit in Holderness, New Hampshire is the Squam Lakes Natural Science Center. It is a place you can take a nature trail and visit with amazing New England animals, as well as take a tour boat out onto the beautiful Squam Lakes and learn about the Squam Lakes environment. This is the perfect place to spend a day outside with your friends and family exploring nature.

      Squam Lakes Science Center is located on 23 Science Center Road in Holderness, New Hampshire. The Science Center is open May through November from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm. The prices to get into the Science Center are 13 dollars for adults and 9 dollars for children. The Squam Lakes Science Center is also handicap accessible so handicap people can enjoy a beautiful day exploring the Science Center exhibits and trails as well.

      At the Squam Lakes Science Center there are many things to see


      and do such as walking the nature trails and visiting animal exhibits along the way. Some of the different types of animals you will see on your nature trail walk will be owls, bob cats, river otters, white tailed deer, black bears, bald eagles, and hawks. You will even see signs at each exhibit that explains what each animal is as well as where there from, what they eat and the habitat they enjoy living in. Also on the nature trail you will see a Solar Exhibit that explains what solar heat is, how it’s used, and where we get solar energy. Another exhibit you will see on the trail is the Life Underground exhibit where you will learn about earthworms, chipmunks, and soil. One more exhibit that is fun to explore on your journey done the trail is the Ecotone Mammal Exhibit where you will see skunks, fishers, and foxes as well as get ...

        Another thing to do and see at the Squam Lakes Science Center is take the Science Centers Lake Cruises. These Cruises take you all over the Squam Lakes. You be out on the Sqaum lakes Cruise for about 90 minutes while your tour guide explains the nature of the lake and answers any questions you might have during your visit to Squam Lakes Science Center.

        Something else that is always great to explore at the Science Center is the Kirkwood Gardens. The Kirkwood Gardens are filled with beautiful plants, flowers, and trees. There are even places to sit and enjoy the garden as well as take a short break from all that walking you did on the nature trails. Also at the Kirkwood Gardens there is a Café where you can pick up a quick snack, lunch, or drink to fill that hungry belly you got while exploring Squam

        Lakes Science Center.

        Then at the end of visiting the Squam Lakes Science Center and exploring everything, its always fun to go and visit the Howling Coyote Gift Shop to pick up a little souvenir to remember your visit at Squam Lakes Science Center. The types of gifts you can buy in the gift shop are t-shirts, stuffed animals, magnets, pencils, post cards, books, lamps, coffee mugs, hats, and might I say the list goes on and on.

        Squam Lakes Science Center is the perfect place to go to enjoy a nice day out in the nature with your friend and family while exploring and learning about nature and animals. Next time you’re in Holderness, New Hampshire make sure you stop and visit the Squam Lakes Science Center for a couple of hours of even the whole entire day.
