If you live in Cape Coral with your pampered pooch, then you should visit the Cape Dog Bakery. If you are a dog lover, the Cape Dog Bakery sells just about everything that you would want or need for your pet and maybe some items that you need, but don’t know you need. For example, did you move to Cape Coral to take advantage of the “water wonderland” lifestyle by boating through the miles of canals, the river, and even the Gulf of Mexico? Does your dog go boating with you? If so, have you thought about your dog’s safety if a boating mishap were to occur? Well, the Cape Dog Bakery has. It sells life jackets for the nautical dog to wear while boating.

Also, the Florida heat can be brutal if you like to take your dog on long walks, especially older pets. At the Cape Dog Bakery, you can find special cooling vest to help keep dogs cool while walking in the Florida heat.

In addition to these items, you can purchase doggie apparel, feeing supplies (such as bowls and feeders), beds, carriers, collars, leashes and harnesses, and grooming supplies such as shampoos and conditioners.

The Cape Dog Bakery also sells premium brands of dog foods such as Wellness, Merrick, Innova, EVO, and Orijen. If you have tried shopping for these brands of dog food at the Big Box chain pet stores, you will know that they can be very difficult or impossible to find. Although many of them can be ordered online, they often are sold online only by the case.

Here, you can buy them by the can to see if they work for your pet before committing to the purchase of a case. Of course, what would a Dog Bakery be without baked goods? Cape Dog Bakery also sells a variety of homemade baked dog treats for your dog’s dining pleasure. I have purchased a number of these treats for my daughter’s dogs and they have always been very favorably ...

      • received.

Actually, they look so good that I have been tempted to try them myself. So far, however, I have resisted the temptation. LOL Even if you don’t own a dog, but you have a dog lover in your life, you can find gifts for the dog lover here because the Cape Dog Bakery sells dog-themed cards, novelties, and other accessories for the human dog lover to enjoy as well as the wide variety of merchandise for the pampered pooch.

If there is a special cat in your life rather than a dog, Cape Dog Bakery should still be on your list of places to visit. Although most of the items are dog-related, Cape Dog Bakery does carry some of the more difficult to find premium cat foods and some cat related items and accessories as well. Also, some items can be used by both smaller dogs and cats, such as pet strollers and carriers.

Cape Dog Bakery is located in a shopping center so parking is not a

problem. Actually, it is located in the “Big John’s” center. There is an entrance to the store from Cape Coral Parkway, but most locals enter from the parking lot on 47th Terrace to avoid the traffic on Cape Coral Parkway.

Cape Dog Bakery is owner operated and I have always found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. If you want something that they don’t have, they try to help you get it. They also support a number of rescue organizations and animal charitable organizations and offer a number of special events (such as parties or photo opportunities) during the year to raise money for these organizations so you and your pooch might want to check out one of these events to do your part for a good cause, too.

If you are a dog lover, or know someone who is, then I highly recommend you stop in at the Cape Dog Bakery before crossing the bridge into Fort Myers. This is your opportunity to “keep it in the Cape. ”
