  • Something New is an interesting movie which explores a relationship between a black woman and a white man
  • What I really liked about this movie is the intelligent way by which it presented the story within a simple and straight forward context and, at the same time, ensuring to avoid unwanted clichés

Apart from having a great story, “Something New” has two actors

that bring out the best of their character Sanaa Lathan and Simon Baker. We already saw this actress in the famous “Blade” movie and we hope to see more of her since she is very talented.

On the other hand, we saw Simon Baker in “L. A. Confidential” and “The Devil Wears Prada”. Interesting to know is that lately he ...

      • was involved in a Martin Scorsese movie with the title “They Key to Reserva”. I am sure that we will get to see more of him too!

“Something New” is about Kenya McQueen (Lathan) who seems to be leading a perfect life great house, great career. The missing factor was great boyfriend. She dreamed of finding her ideal black man. After

going on a blind date, she meets Brian (Baker) who is cute but very white! Things work differently once Brian start landscaping Kenya’s garden and she soon realise that this guy could be the one!

“Something New” is directed by Sanaa Hamri who recently directed also the movie “Sisterhood of Travelling Pants 2″.

“Something New” sends a good message home that love knows no skin colour!
