Secrets by Jacqueline Wilson is a great story and awesome at that. I find Jacqueline Wilson a good author with this book, depicting true friendship between two girls; naming India and Treasure.

Two unique names, and with two different family background, but they will form a friendship that is beyond reason and understanding. I think that the term ‘opposites attract’

does work in certain circumstances like friendships as well and that’s proven between these two girls. India was born in a silver spoon environment, but she’s having parents that are ‘not there’. Her mom is the ever anorexic and something of a ’stiff-upper lip’, and her dad is barely there with her and her mom. She succumbs herself in the ...

      • character of ‘Anne Frank’, which she thinks saves herself from all this depression and boredom and that is her top secret in her diary. As for Treasure, she doesn’t want to not stay with her grandma and move back to her abusive father, Terry and her mom again. Terry is her stepfather and a bully at that. But Treasure is
keeping that her secret as well.

So when she finds a friendship in India, she runs away to live in India’s secret attic. How long will it last and will the grown ups ever listen to their hearts’ desires and longing..? Read on to find out. I feel my heart moved for these two characters. 10 stars for this author.
