Barefoot in the Dark by Lynne Barrett-Lee is a story about fairy-tales which an adult like me had read and so loving it very much.

The story has a modern concept to it though. Like a modern Cinderella of some sorts. Enters the character of Hope and she loses not her glass slippers

as in Cinderella but her trainers instead. That makes me laugh for a bit while reading. She is a widow and definitely not being happy at the moment. And the one who finds her shoe..? None other than a charming guy with a charming name called Jack Valentine. Now Jack is ...

      • also divorced and to add more fairy-tale to the story, they have crossed their paths together for a TV show to attract publicity. That’s because Jack publicly declares on his show for the owner to own up and Hope being encouraged, comes forward and they meet from then on.

However, they are so called attracted to

one another, but each is aware of the other so called baggage love life before. Would they be able to continue with their secret love inside and come out of their web cocoon of not acknowledging it..? Read on to find out. I enjoyed every minute of this story pretty much, I give it a 10.
