This printer from Epson is an inkjet printer which costs $75, bought in year 2003.

If you are just looking for a basic inkjet color printer for your term papers, or resumes, then this might work fine for you. This uses T038 ink cartridge for Black and White, and a T039 for colored.

However, if you are doing printing most of the time, you might want to invest in an ink-saving printer. This one, from my experiences, empties my cartridge so easily, especially the colored ink.

      Other good

feature of this printer is you can choose from five print modes. Draft, lets you print speedily and is useful if you just want too transfer some long notes from your screen to a paper. The print is quite thin like a dot matrix print and uses very little ink, but it is quite readable and clean.

Text is for regular printing. If you want to publish some written research that is pure text, you can safely pick this one.

Text/Image is almost same with text ...

      • printing, except that it lets the printer set the mode for printing with color and black and white at the same time, thus, making the most effective use of the ink as well as producing the right quality intended.

Photo and Photo RPM lets you print on a regular paper and photo paper respectively. Actually, I never tried these two so far, as I bought this printer for printing text only.

Maintenance is easy to do since there is a software that checks the nozzle and cleans the

        nozzle head.

Again, this printer is ideal for home user with print speed up to12.0 ppm for black text, and resolution of 2880dpi, and supports EXIF print.

The printer connects to a parallel port, and the package did not ship with a printer cable, so you have to purchase a separate one. There is a CD included for manual and drivers, as this printer, isn’t plug-and-play, and it won’t work if you don’t install a driver. Also, in the CD you will find some additional utility software like Epson PhotoQuicker 3.4.
