      This crouton recipe is a variation of the one that I got from Alton Brown (from the show Good Eats of the Food Network). I tweaked it a bit to suite my tastes, and so far it has been a HUGE hit with my salad-loving family!

      What I also love about this recipe, and technique is that it’s pretty easy to do, and there’s basically now


      waste, since the garlic which you’ll use for infusing the oil can be used for other recipes such as stir-fry, and as for the bread–any old bread would do–& sometimes you can even use the ones with a bit of bread mold–as long as you cut it off!

      • want it to be–I want mine a bit strong) and add a pinch of salt to it and pour roughly 1/3 c vegetable oil–canola or the like–

        while the oil is infusing, cut your bread into small cubes and toast in oven just enough to make it crunchy & LIGHT brown–take note that you’ll still be cooking this in oil, so not too brown is key

        or you’ll end up with super brown croutons!
