When you have got two great movies in a row, you end up comparing one with the other. One will end up being very good and the other one is less good. “Made of Honor” was labelled by many critics as the less good movie of the actor, Patrick Dempsey when compared with the great Disney movie “Enchanted”.

I must say that, although “Made of Honor” is not as good as “Enchanted”, it managed to break new ground with regards romantic comedy. First of all, we

are so used to see a main female role in romantic comedy while in this movie we have a predominated male role. The story of this movie and how it was filmed is not exclusively addressed towards female audiences but also male audiences can watch it and have a great time.

The story of “Made of Honor” is about Tom Bailey (Dempsey) who doesn’t like having commitments with women. His only lasting relationship is with his dear friend Hannah, a part interpreted by Michelle Monaghan. When ...

      • Hannah returns from Scotland with a husband to be, Tom realise that may be he is going to miss more than just a friend. He agrees to be the Made of Honor for his friend in order to break her up from her current relationship.

Dempsey and Monaghan are simply great in their role. The only thing I didn’t like about Dempsey was his strange and bizarre hairstyle and his makeup which made him look tired and older. Sadly enough, “Made of Honor” was the last

movie for the brilliant actor, director and producer, Sidney Pollack. One can’t help but love the role he portraits in this movie of the womanising father and great friend. In 1985, Pollack won two Oscars for the movie “Out of Africa”.

“Made of Honor” is not just a movie for romantic comedy lovers. There is more to; good script, great actors and excellent funny moments. If you don’t like watching romantic movies, I still recommend you watch it to see Pollack in action in his last flick.
