Superstitious is by R.L. Stine. This book is in the horror/supernatural genre. I had never read any of R.L. Stine’s work before so didn’t know what to expect. I liked the way the book was written even if horror isn’t one of my favorite story types.

The book is about exactly what it’s called superstitions, with folklore mixed in. The main characters of the book are Liam O’Connor

and Sara Morgan. Liam is a professor of folklore at the college, and Sara is returning to take some courses. All the students love Liam, especially the girls. He has that Irish charm thing going big time. But Liam falls for Sara as soon as he meets her. Sara doesn’t know this is the worst thing that could have happened!

As Sara and Liam continue in their ...

      • relationship Liam’s superstitions begin to wear on Sara’s nerves. Liam really believes in them and makes Sara take them seriously also. Another thing that adds stress to the relationship is Liam’s sister who lives with them. She’s always around and something is not quite right about the situation. I don’t want to tell you any more and spoil the surprise!

Superstitious has monsters and killings, love and family

problems, and a little bit of everything else all rolled into one. It isn’t hard to figure out what’s going on with the book. The main part is even revealed pretty early on. But it is still interesting following it through to the conclusion.

If you like scary movies, and believe in old wives tales, you’ll like this book. I would recommend it for any horror fans out there.

Superstitious was the first adult novel that R. L. Stine wrote. Therefore, the reading age level would be at least 18 years old.
