Fruits Baskets is my all time favorite manga, by Natsuki Takaya, about a very optimistic, orphan high school girl named Tohru Honda who’s mother recently died. She lives in the woods while her grandfather is remodeling his house, and finds out she is living on the property of the Sohma house, where the popular Yuki Sohma lives from her school.

      They end up allowing

Tohru to stay at the Sohma house.

One day, Tohru hugs Kyo, one of the Sohma family members, who is intent on beating Yuki at everything although he cannot, and he turns into a cat.

It is then she finds out that the Sohma family has a curse in which if they are hugged by the opposite gender or sick, they transform into an ...

      • animal.

Each Sohma has one from the 12 animals in the Chinese Zodiac.

Akito is not cursed, but the Sohma family master or “God”.

The rest of the manga is Tohru’s adventures with each of the Sohmas and how the curse eventually breaks and Tohru and Kyo fall in love.

I love this manga, it is perfect.

The art is wonderful, and I like

how Yuki is a calm person while Kyo is more of a bad boy.

Each one fits with their zodiac animal like how Kagura, the boar, has big temper tantrums.

Everything is perfect from the characters to the ending and the plot.

I like the ending, which is very emotional and I think it’s not a wonder why it’s one of the best mangas ever created.
