Shaun of the Dead (2004) is a comedy directed by Edgar Wright and is rated R by the MPAA for zombie violence/gore and language.

Shaun of the Dead follows the title character (Simon Pegg) through his boring life in London. Joined by his immature and ever-present roommate, Ed (Nick Frost), Shaun is good at nothing

except drinking pints of ale and watching television, which causes problems with his girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield). Before Shaun can fix his relationship he’s got to escape a horde of zombies that are quickly taking over the city. Armed with only a cricket bat, Shaun must rescue his friends and loved ones, and bring ...

      • them to the only safe place he can think of, the pub.

Shaun of the Dead is by far one of the wittiest comedies I’ve seen in a while and I laughed from start to finish. Edgar Wright shows he definately knows how to write and direct with his debut feature and Simon Pegg

and Nick Frost are absolutely hilarious. The movie is pretty much a humorous homage to the old zombie movies of Romero and is done very stylishly with a pretty good amount of gore but not too much.

I highly recommend Shaun of the Dead to everyone. It is probably the best comedy of 2004.
