Mortal Kombat (1995) is an action film from director Paul W.S. Anderson and is rated PG-13 by the MPAA for non-stop martial arts action and some violence.

Mortal Kombat, an adaptation of the very popular video game series, revolves around a tournament that pits the forces of evil against good. The evil team, led

by the sorcerer Shang Tsung, includes the ice-wielding Sub-Zero, the fire-breathing Scorpion, and the huge, four-armed, muscle-bound mutant Goro. The good guys are led by Lord Rayden, who uses electricity as his weapon. His pupils include martial arts expert Liu Kang, egotistical movie star and karate expert Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade, a ...

      • task-force commando who has a grudge against one of the opposition. Also, whichever team wins 10 tournaments in a row will rule the Earth, and Shang Tsung’s demonic team has won the last nine.

Mortal Kombat is a fun, action-packed, and special effects driven film that was impossible for me not to like, even

with the not-so-good acting. I was just way too big a fan of the game to not enjoy this mindless martial-arts movie. Be aware, it is extremely cheesy and the jokes realy aren’t funny at all.

If you like the game you’re probably gonna like the movie, but if not, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

I have heard of this great movie and it’s success from it’s release, but not know why I have not seen it. Mortal Kombat seems like a great movie, one you can watch alone or with your friends. I will take a look into this as I am a movie buff and enjoy movies of most genres and that show great promise, suspense and a lot of action.
