In a third world country, air travel has a “luxury” image. When one travels by air, and not by a discount airline, a certain standard of services is expected.

However, Indian Airlines falls short on almost every count.

The last trip I made on this airline was

Mumbai - Delhi, from India’s financial capital to it;s political capital.

You would think that, being the prime route in the country, with the heaviest daily traffic, the airline would put it;s best staffers on this run.

If so, I shudder to think about the condition on ...

      • lesser routes.

Right from the check - in onwards, the staff showed no sign of courtesy or helpfulness.

The stewardesses were’nt much better, appearing a full five minutes after pressing the bell to summon them.

As for the food, the less said the better.

        I wonder how

anyone could foul up a simple Indian breakfast so badly.

The tea served did not bear any resemblance to the normal beverage.

The only saving grace, I think, was that they did’nt lose my luggage.

I have decided to travel by no - frill airlines from here on in.
