Star Gazing by Linda Gillard is a romantic story filled with uncertainty and about being blind. Marianne Fraser has been blind since she was a baby and her plight is very pitiful, that my heart truly went out to her character.

The story is set when Marianne ages into her 40s and she lives with her very talented writer sister, Louisa. The setting is mainly in Edinburgh and here,

the 2 sisters leave together, but actually suffering because Louisa is an angry person and Marianne lives unhappily there, actually. Marianne goes on living her life, thinking about her bad past, and how she had been a widow in her early age before and reflecting on her own life. Then, fate has it that there’s this particular man by the name of Keir and he arrives at her door one ...

      • night. Not going to tell details, but this man has feelings for her and wanting to rescue her from the plight that she’s in. And he has a wonderful proposition for Marianne, which she is very doubtful would be good to take or not.

What is the deal? It has something to his hometown called Skye and that is a place where Marianne is promised to see the stars

and many more. I’m not going to say whether obnoxious but kind Keir is a human or perhaps not. You have to read on and find out. This story is very imaginative and I love the narrative voice that the author had written. This story is not to be read in a rush. In fact, it has to be read slowly and steadily. I give this a 9.
