A house owner has joined a deal with the firesquad executive which will enable him to get insurance money if the fire department lets his house burn to the

ground. In the middle of this situation stands The Tramp, played by Charlie Chaplin of course, who knows nothing about the deal and tries to put out the fire.

      • One of Chaplin’s earliest films when he was still experimenting with his style. A funny idea to come up with, but as I see it this one hasn’t aged
nearly as well as some of his other films from his time. Some masterful scenes of humouristic brilliance, but not many enough to make the whole impression better than mediocre.
