It’s been some time since I went to visit some of the popular places of interest in my own country. Singapore has many popular tourist attractions including Sentosa, Singapore Zoological Gardens, and Orchard Road. One of the latest attraction is the Singapore Flyer, similar to the London Eye, except that it is the biggest in the world. Just last weekend, I visited the Jurong Bird Park.

Jurong Bird Park is slightly more than 20 hectares in size. What is so

special about this park is that it houses more than 9,000 bird from 600 different species of bird that you can find a around the world.

The Lory Loft is my favorite. It is a gigantic aviary which even includes houses 1,000 lories. It allows people to enjoy the birds in their natural environment. You can walk on the elevated boardwalk and suspension bridges to enjoy the lories at a heightened experience. You can also feed the lories with a ...

      • specific food which you can buy at the entrance of the Lory Loft. The birds are quite used to visitors and will come close to feed from the cup in your outstretched palm.

Another main attraction at the Jurong Bird Park has got to the man-made waterfall. It is the highest man-made waterfall in the world. The waterfall is also within another enormous aviary where you can enjoy birds from Africa and South America, all flying freely in the

enclosed area. We took some memorable photos there.

The Pelican Cove & Swan Lake is another new attraction there at the Bird Park. Many pelicans and swans plague the lake. There were also lots of beautiful pink flamingoes. It is a great place to stop by for a picnic lunch.

Besides these attractions, the main draw must be the bird shows. They have designated different times and locations for the bird shows. So, make sure you catch them!
