I have recently purchased a 3 lb tub of Syntha-6 Protein Powder. Syntha-6 is absolutely the best tasting and smoothest protein powder that I have ever tried and I have tried lots. I am reviewing BSN’s Syntha-6 Chocolate Milkshake flavor protein powder in particular. This is really an amazing product nutrition wise and also taste wise.

Each tub of Syntha-6 comes with about 30 servings in it for a price of around 25 to 30 dollars for a almost 3lb tub. 1 serving is one rounded scoop which is about 44 grams. The scoop comes with the protein so don’t worry about measuring out exactly 44 grams.

Lets start with ingredients in this powder, each scoop of BSN’s Syntha-6 protein contains the following amount of the following: 200 calories with 54 of those being calories from fat, 6 grams of fat with 2 of those grams being saturated, 55 mg of cholesterol, 15

grams of carbohydrates with 5 of those grams being from fiber and 2 of those grams being from sugar, and the best part is that it contains 22 grams of protein.

BSN’s Syntha-6 contains 6 different types of proteins (reason behind the name). The protein in Syntha-6 includes whey protein concentrate, whey protein isolate, egg albumen, milk protein concentrate, and calcium caseinate. I know confusing right, but they all digest through the body at different rates which is why there is so many different kinds. Some are slower digesting taking up to 6 to 8 hours while others such as the whey can be as fast as 2 to 3 hours. You need both kinds when trying to build muscle mass.

Now for the physical aspects of Syntha-6 Chocolate Milkshake Protein. This is really a great product by BSN and they did not cut any corners with it. The mix ability and texture of this ...

      • protein is like that of a very creamy shake or malt, it mixed very well with fat free milk and had pretty much no clumps or chunks in it, also it is very smooth when drinking. The best part of this protein powder is the smell and taste of it. When I opened the tub I was kind of shocked, it actually smelled like really creamy chocolate and not just some chemical powder like a lot of the other brands of protein powder. As good as all of the above are, the taste of this protein is what makes it. Just like the smell of it, it tastes amazing like a very rich chocolate milkshake or malt (go figure). It tastes a lot like a cold hot chocolate and has absolutely no nasty tasting chemical after taste.

There are different ways to prepare this protein all of them are very easy. You can mix

this with pretty much any drink. I recommend you stick to either just water or fat free milk. If you do not want to use fat free milk it is up to you. You just mix it with one of those and shake it up in a shaker cup for about 20 to 30 seconds and your good to go. If you have a little more time then here is my favorite way to make it. You will need a blender, a cup of ice, 1 rounded scoop of Syntha-6 protein powder, 1 cup of fat free milk, and 1 table spoon of peanut butter. Mix it all up in the blender and you have an amazing tasting desert. Like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Shake, it is great tasting.

Overall this is a great product with a price that good be a little better. That is the only reason I can’t give it a perfect score.

Hi Chris, my husband uses protein powder all the time and has never failed the bi-annual drug screenings that his company requires. I have never heard of protein powder causing a bad drug screening.
